Overview

A golf and leisure operator running courses and public facilities needed to replace an ageing mowing fleet in one move rather than piecemeal. The package covered greens, tees and fairway mowing equipment across the estate, with a total cost of around £550,000.

Challenge

Replacing a fleet in a single season concentrates a large amount of expenditure into a short window. Funding it from reserves would have taken money away from clubhouse and facility investment, and staggering purchases over several years would have left older machines in service on the most visible parts of the course.

Solution

We arranged a hire purchase facility over 60 months so the operator owns the fleet outright at the end of the term. The payment profile was set against the maintenance cycle the machines are expected to serve, so the cost sits alongside the income the courses generate rather than ahead of it.
